Sakip Sabanci Museum in Istanbul

Sakip Sabanci Museum in Istanbul

Sakip Sabanci (1933-2004) was one of the richest Turkish businessman. However, he was also a man of heart. He was generous, lover of art, which is why the richness of his collection of art – including paintings, sculptures, calligraphy, books – is now open to visitors in his former home under the name of Sakip Sabanci Museum in Istanbul.

“I am irritated when people consider me only as a rich man; I am happy with my social personality and my generosity”

This place is definitely worth a visit, especially because two floors are devoted to temporary exhibitions. It also gives the opportunity to visit the lounges of his former home where is exposed his history and that of his family. There is also a chronology of his life in video, pictures, as well as a collection of priceless art, hangings, Qurans …

This house overlooks a wooded garden rich in sculptures. In a small corner, an artistic workshop opens its doors for free to children, for which you must reserve your place on the internet. Depending on the age and number of participants, a workshop will be proposed.
